dacadoo built a full digital health engagement platform: a 0 to 1,000 Health Score, a white-label app with gamification and rewards, and a Risk Engine sold to insurers for underwriting. On 29 July 2026 the Zurich District Court opened bankruptcy proceedings against dacadoo ag, and in September the bankruptcy office moved to sell its software. Sahha is the data layer rather than the app: scores, biomarkers and archetypes computed passively from the phone and any wearable, delivered by API.

What each one asks of the user.
Both can return a score for a user who owns no wearable. The difference is how much the user has to do to get one.
Nothing to fill in
Every score computes from the phone’s own sensor signal through the SDK, and any wearable a user already owns adds to it.
Self-report plus trackers
dacadoo’s Health Score page states that users add self-reported health and lifestyle data manually, with tracker data pulled in alongside it. The score combines biometric, lifestyle and psychometric inputs.
A self-reported score is only as current as the user’s last answer. A passive one keeps updating whether or not they open the app.

dacadoo sold the whole stack: the score, the app, and the engagement mechanics around it. Sahha sells what sits underneath and leaves the experience to you. If you called dacadoo’s API from your own app, your front end stays. If you shipped its White Label or SaaS app, the score moves to Sahha but the app has to be rebuilt.

Methods under NDA, or methods in public.
dacadoo states its Health Score draws on 400 million person-years of scientific data, and that its Risk Engine reaches a ROC AUC of 91.6% in estimating overall relative mortality. Its developer site says the scientific documentation behind both models is provided after a mutual NDA. That is a common choice for a licensed model, and it means a buyer cannot check the method before talking to sales.
Sahha runs the same models on every deployment, and publishes the research underneath them with sample size, ethics approval and limitations stated.

What Sahha does not do.
- No underwriting, pricing or risk scoring
- Sahha does not estimate mortality or disease risk, and its Customer Data Use Policy prohibits using Sahha data to underwrite, price or decide eligibility. Insurers running opt-in member wellness programmes are a fit. Replacing dacadoo’s Risk Engine is not.
- No ready-made app
- There is no white-label app, challenge engine, rewards engine or coaching content library. Scores, biomarkers and archetypes arrive as JSON over REST and webhooks for your own product to use. Enterprise plans include design and build services if you need the front end built.
- No questionnaire-based scoring
- Sahha scores are computed from sensor data. Self-reported answers and clinical inputs such as blood values or family history do not feed them.
- Fewer direct connections for some brands
- dacadoo synced directly with Fitbit, Strava and Withings. Sahha’s direct cloud connections are Oura, WHOOP, Garmin, and Dexcom. Strava and Withings reach Sahha through Apple Health or Health Connect, which needs your app on the device, and with no direct Fitbit connection, Fitbit users on iPhone bring phone data only.

- Sahha hosts on AWS in the US (us-east-1), with optional EU data residency in eu-central-1 (Frankfurt). dacadoo ran each client in a dedicated environment in its country of choice, so if your contract or regulator names a country outside those two regions, Sahha does not meet it today.

- Scores and biomarkers return as JSON over REST and webhooks. If a clinical record system is the destination, that is a hard stop.

A 0 to 1,000 composite normalised by age and sex is a different construct from Sahha’s scores. Expect a break in any trend chart your product shows, or re-baseline at the switch. If a rewards programme is keyed to Health Score levels, rebuild it around each user’s change against their own baseline rather than a fixed threshold.

Is dacadoo still operating?
The bankruptcy court of the Zurich District Court opened bankruptcy proceedings against dacadoo ag on 29 July 2026, and the company is registered as dacadoo ag in Liquidation. On 25 September 2026 the bankruptcy office published a conditional sale of its software, source code, models, data and domains. No buyer has been publicly named as of 9 October 2026, and whether a buyer keeps the service running is not public. Contact the bankruptcy office, Konkursamt Riesbach-Zürich, directly about your contract and environment.
What happens to our users’ data held by dacadoo?
The bankruptcy office controls the estate, and its sale notice lists models, data and research resources among the assets offered. What that covers in your case depends on your contract and data processing agreement with dacadoo. Request an export in writing now, and ask how your data will be handled in any sale. Sahha can load exported history back in through its data log endpoints.
Can Sahha replace the dacadoo Health Score?
It replaces the role, not the number. dacadoo’s Health Score is one composite from 0 to 1,000, built partly from self-reported answers and normalised by age and sex. Sahha returns five scores computed passively from the phone and any wearable, plus biomarkers and archetypes. Values will not map one to one, so re-baseline at the switch rather than converting old scores.
Can Sahha replace the dacadoo Risk Engine?
No. dacadoo sold the Risk Engine to refine underwriting, pricing and segmentation. Sahha does not estimate disease or mortality risk, and its Customer Data Use Policy prohibits using Sahha data to underwrite, price or decide eligibility. Insurers that used dacadoo for opt-in member wellness programmes are a fit. Underwriting needs a different provider.
Will our users have to reconnect their devices?
Some will. Connections made through dacadoo’s App Connector to Fitbit, Garmin, Strava or Withings were set up with dacadoo, so those users approve once more, into accounts you own. How long does a move from dacadoo take?
It depends on which dacadoo product you ran. Teams that called dacadoo’s API from their own app are replacing a data layer, which is SDK and webhook work you can start today on the free trial. Teams that shipped dacadoo’s White Label or SaaS app also need a front end, built in-house or through the design and build services on Sahha’s Enterprise plan. Either way, take your export first, because the bankruptcy timetable is not yours to set.
